These terms cover your use of Tabby (“Tabby,” “we,” “us”), a tool that helps a group split a restaurant bill. By using Tabby, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.
What Tabby does
Tabby reads a receipt, lets each person claim their items, and creates a pre-filled payment request so people can pay the host back. It’s a convenience tool for organizing who owes what.
Tabby is not a payment service
We do not move, hold, or process any money. All payments happen directly between you and other people through third-party apps like Venmo or Cash App, or in person. Tabby is not a party to those payments and is not responsible for them, including any fees, delays, mistakes, refunds, or disputes. Those are between you and the other people at your table (and their payment apps).
Check the numbers yourself
Tabby uses AI to read receipts, and it can make mistakes. Always review the items, prices, tax, and tip before relying on them. The final amounts, and any decision to pay, are your responsibility. Tabby is provided to help you organize a split, not to guarantee any amount is correct.
Your responsibilities
- Use Tabby only for lawfully splitting bills among people who agree to it.
- Enter accurate information and don’t impersonate anyone.
- Don’t misuse the service, attempt to break it, or use it to harass or defraud others.
Disputes between users
The host sets up the bill and their payment details; guests decide what to pay. Any disagreement over who owes what, or whether someone paid, is between the people involved. Tabby doesn’t mediate or take sides.
Service “as is”
Tabby is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that receipt readings will be accurate. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for amounts anyone pays or fails to pay, arising from your use of Tabby.
Changes and availability
We’re actively building Tabby and may change, pause, or remove features at any time. If we make meaningful changes to these terms, we’ll update the date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
